If you want to crack UPSC first requirement is that you should be a graduate. No matter which degree you have but you should be a degree holder. After completing your graduation you are able to fill the form of UPSC.
There are three stages UPSC. First is prelims ,second is mains, third is interview.
In prelims there are two paper first one is of general studies and second one of CSAT. In the first paper of general studies of prelims history, geography ,politics, economy ,general issues,ecology ,environment, biodiversity ,climate change ,general science and current affairs are included. There are 100 questions of 200 marks.You have to score maximum marks in this exam. Second paper of prelims is CSAT. It include comprehension, communication skills,reasoning, decision making, mental ability ,maths of class 10th . There are 80 questions of 200 marks. You have to only qualify this exam.
If you qualify your prelims then you are upgraded to the next stage which is mains exam. There are total seven papers in mains exam. 1st paper is of essay writing which include topics like social issues ,politics etc. 2nd paper is of general studies which include Indian history like its culture, World geography and society. 3rdpaper include constitution, politics ,justice and international relations of India. 4th paper include technology ,economic development, biodiversity ,security and disaster management. 5th paper is of ethics,integrity and aptitude. 6th paper is of language. 7th paper is optional you can choose any subject which you want. prelims is objective while mains is subjective.If you crack mains then you are able to go for interview. Merit list is based on the scores of mains and interview. scores of prelims are not included in the merit list.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is conducted in three stages - Preliminary, Mains, and Interview.
1. Preliminary Examination: It consists of two objective type papers - General Studies Paper-I and CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Paper-II. The total marks for both the papers are 400.
2. Mains Examination: It consists of nine descriptive type papers - Essay, General Studies Paper-I, General Studies Paper-II, General Studies Paper-III, General Studies Paper-IV, Optional Paper-I, Optional Paper-II, and Indian Language Paper, and English Language Paper. The total marks for the Mains examination are 1750.
3. Interview: The interview carries 275 marks and is conducted by a board of members.
The syllabus for the UPSC CSE is vast, covering diverse topics ranging from History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Science & Technology, Environment, Ethics, and Current Affairs. It is important to go through the syllabus thoroughly and understand the weightage given to each topic.
