A can do the work in 35 days
B can do the work in 28 days

Let the total work be 1 unit.
So, A can do 1/35th of the work in a day and B can do 1/28th of the work in a day.

A works for 10 days and completes 10/35th of the work, leaving 25/35th of the work remaining.
B completes the remaining work in x days.

Now, using the concept of work done, we can write:

10/35 + (1/28)x = 1

Simplifying the above equation, we get:

x = 30

Therefore, B can complete the remaining work in 30 days.

Hence, the total time taken to complete the work by both A and B is:

10 + 30 = 40 days

Therefore, the correct option is (d) 30 days.
