Earthquakes:

Loess is formed when fine particles of dust are picked up by the wind and transported over long distances. These particles eventually settle and accumulate, forming layers of loose sediment. They are also important for preserving archaeological sites and fossils, as the fine particles help to preserve delicate materials.
