Answer:

Pressure in a freely falling beaker of water can be explained using Bernoulli's principle, which states that as the velocity of a fluid increases, its pressure decreases.

Heading: Bernoulli's principle and pressure in a falling beaker of water

- Bernoulli's principle: As the velocity of a fluid increases, its pressure decreases.
- Falling beaker of water: Water is falling freely under the influence of gravity.
- Velocity of water: Velocity of water increases as it falls towards the bottom of the beaker.
- Pressure at point B: Point B is on the surface of water in the beaker. The pressure at point B is atmospheric pressure.
- Pressure at point C: Point C is vertically below B near the bottom of the beaker. The velocity of water is maximum at point C, so the pressure at point C is minimum.
- Relation between PB and Pc: Since atmospheric pressure at point B is greater than the pressure at point C, PB = Pc.

Bernoulli's principle and pressure in a falling beaker of water

  • Bernoulli's principle: As the velocity of a fluid increases, its pressure decreases.

  • Falling beaker of water: Water is falling freely under the influence of gravity.

  • Velocity of water: Velocity of water increases as it falls towards the bottom of the beaker.

  • Pressure at point B: Point B is on the surface of water in the beaker. The pressure at point B is atmospheric pressure.

  • Pressure at point C: Point C is vertically below B near the bottom of the beaker. The velocity of water is maximum at point C, so the pressure at point C is minimum.

  • Relation between PB and Pc: Since atmospheric pressure at point B is greater than the pressure at point C, PB = Pc.

When beaker will move vertically upward or downward, the pressure variation with height

So we can write it as.

P=pgh.                 (let p - rho - density)

where
g= g+a ( a = +g in case of rising @ vertically moving upward )
g= g -a  ( a= -g in case of free fall)

So, given in case of freely falling "g" becomes "0"

Therefore P=p(0)h = 0

This means, the pressure between two points with h distance between them will have same pressure.

so in this form, we can conclude that pressure at all point will be same and equal to the atmospheric pressure.
