A train crosses a platform in 45 seconds travelling with a speed of 36...
GIVEN:
Speed of the train = 36 km/h
Length of the train = 200 m
Train crosses a platform in 45 seconds
FORMULA USED:
Speed = Distance / Time
CALCULATION:
Let the length of platform be ‘x’
⇒ Total distance travelled by train = x + 200
Speed of train = 36km/hr = 10 m/s
Time taken = 45 s
10 = (x + 200)/45
⇒ x + 200 = 450
∴ x = 450 - 200 = 250 m

A train crosses a platform in 45 seconds travelling with a speed of 36...
Given:
- Speed of the train = 36 km/h
- Time taken to cross the platform = 45 seconds
- Length of the train = 200 meters

To find:
- Length of the platform

Approach:
- We need to determine the length of the platform, which can be calculated by subtracting the length of the train from the total distance covered by the train while crossing the platform.
- The total distance covered by the train can be calculated by multiplying the speed of the train with the time taken to cross the platform.

Calculation:
- Speed of the train = 36 km/h
- Distance covered by the train in 45 seconds = (36 km/h) * (45 seconds) = (36 * 1000 m/3600 s) * 45 s = 1000 meters
- Length of the train = 200 meters

Therefore,
- Length of the platform = Total distance covered by the train - Length of the train = 1000 meters - 200 meters = 800 meters

Hence,
- The length of the platform is 800 meters.

Answer:
- The correct option is (a) 250 meters.
