There were many causes of the russian revolution. First, the Tsar Nicholas had no experience of ruling over a multi ethnic empire like russia. Usually the father of the ruler is supposed to teach them that before he became tsar. But Nicolas's father, Tsar Alexander, did not like his son, so he refused and told his son to go to another country, by the time he got ready to teach Nicolas, he was already on his death bed. This led Nicholas to make some bad decisions. First, on the day he became Tsar, the people came to pay respect to him, but instead of acknowledging them, he went to party with the French. This in particular made people very angry who started to call him butcher. Things needed one push to turn into a revolution. And that push was bloody sunday. But Nicolas was able to survive this revolution by setting up the Duma. But he would dismiss them anytime they did something he didn't like. After that, things stayed quite for sometime, until world war 1. Nicholas went of to lead the armies to battle while leaving his ' German' wife in charge. The same germans who they were at war with. Afer this the germans did a blockade of russia, and in no time they were drained of all their resources, which led to the revolution of 1917. And the Tsar had to abdicate. But this was not all, the Russians were still at war with germany, and germany had an idea, Lenin had been exiled to Switzerland. The germans put him on a train, and sent him to russia where he could start another revolution. He did so and pulled Russia out of world war 1. What followed was a 3 year long civil war.
