Refraction of Light:
When light passes from one medium to another, it changes speed and direction. This phenomenon is called refraction. In this case, light is passing from air (outside the sphere) to the transparent sphere.



Apparent Position of the Dot:
When light enters the sphere, it bends towards the normal due to refraction. As the light exits the sphere, it bends away from the normal. This causes the light rays to converge at a point, which gives the illusion of the dot being at the surface of the sphere. However, the dot is actually located at the opaque center of the sphere.



Observing from Outside:
