The given expression can be rewritten as
Now, log 15 = log 3 + log 5 = log 3 + log 10 – log 2.
Since log 3 = 0.4771 and
log 2 = 0.3010,
log 15 = 0.4771 + 1 – 0.3010 = 1.1761.
log 2 = 0.3010,
log 15 = 0.4771 + 1 – 0.3010 = 1.1761.
Substituting these values, we get (1.1761/0.4771) + (0.4771/1.1761)
≈ (1.175/0.47) + (0.47/1.175)
= 2.5 + (1/2.5)
= 7.25/2.5
= 2.9.
The best answer is 2.87.
≈ (1.175/0.47) + (0.47/1.175)
= 2.5 + (1/2.5)
= 7.25/2.5
= 2.9.
