Which is not a correct statement ?a)Cassiterite, chromite and haematit...
Sulphide ore is roasted in presence of excess of air or O2 below its melting point to convert into the the oxide and to remove the impurities of S,P,Sb etc ,as their volatile oxides. In some cases roasting of certain sulphide ores provide directly the  metals.

Which is not a correct statement ?a)Cassiterite, chromite and haematit...
Explanation:
The correct statement is option 'c' which states that sulphide ore is concentrated by calcination method. This statement is incorrect because sulphide ore is actually concentrated by froth flotation method, not by calcination.

Froth Flotation Method:
Sulphide ores are concentrated by froth flotation method. In this method, the finely powdered ore is mixed with water and a small amount of pine oil (or any other suitable oil). Air is blown into the mixture to create a froth. The sulphide ore particles stick to the oil droplets in the froth and rise to the surface, while the gangue particles sink to the bottom. The froth containing the concentrated ore is skimmed off and dried to obtain the final product.

Calcination Method:
Calcination is a process of heating the ore in the absence of air to bring about its decomposition and remove the volatile impurities. It is used to convert carbonate ores into oxides. For example, calcination of limestone (CaCO3) results in the formation of quicklime (CaO).

Other Correct Statements:
a) Cassiterite, chromite, and haematite are concentrated by hydraulic washing (tabling).
Hydraulic washing or tabling is a method of concentration of ores in which the ore particles are separated based on their differences in specific gravity. The heavier ore particles settle down while the lighter gangue particles are washed away by a stream of water.

b) Pure Al2O3 is obtained from the bauxite ore by leaching in the Bayer's process.
Bauxite ore is treated with a hot concentrated solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) under high pressure and temperature in the Bayer's process. This leaching process dissolves the aluminium hydroxide present in the ore, leaving behind impurities. The solution is then cooled and filtered to obtain pure Al2O3.

d) Roasting can convert sulphide of copper into oxide, and part of the sulphide may also act as a reducing agent.
Roasting is a process in which the sulphide ore is heated in the presence of excess air to convert it into its oxide form. In the case of copper, roasting converts copper sulphide (CuS) into copper oxide (CuO). Some of the sulphide may also act as a reducing agent, converting some of the copper oxide back to copper sulphide.
