Describe the political conditions that lead to the outbreak ofrevoluti...
Introduction: The French Revolution was a period of great political and social upheaval in France, which lasted from 1789 to 1799. It was caused by a number of political, social and economic factors that had been building up for many years.

Political Conditions:

• Monarchy: France was ruled by an absolute monarchy, in which the king had complete control over the government and the people. The king was seen as a divine ruler, who was appointed by God to rule over the people. This led to a feeling of resentment among the people, who felt that they had no say in the government.

• Inequality: The French society was divided into three estates, with the clergy and the nobility enjoying special privileges and exemptions from taxes. The common people, who made up the majority of the population, had to bear the burden of taxes and other expenses.

• Corruption: The French government was corrupt, with officials accepting bribes and engaging in other forms of illegal activity. This further fueled the resentment of the people towards the government.

Events that Triggered the Revolution:

• Financial Crisis: France was facing a severe financial crisis due to the cost of wars, lavish spending by the royalty and the debt incurred by the government. The government tried to raise taxes to cover the expenses, which led to widespread protests by the people.

• The Estates-General: In 1789, the king called for a meeting of the Estates-General, which was a representative body consisting of the three estates. The Third Estate, which represented the common people, demanded a greater say in the government, which was denied by the other two estates.

• The Storming of the Bastille: On July 14, 1789, a mob of angry citizens stormed the Bastille, a prison in Paris. This event is seen as the beginning of the French Revolution.

Conclusion: The political conditions in France, characterized by an absolute monarchy, inequality and corruption, along with the events that triggered the revolution, such as the financial crisis, the Estates-General and the Storming of the Bastille, all contributed to the outbreak of revolution in France.
