Kepler's Second Law, also known as the law of equal areas, states that the line connecting a planet to the Sun sweeps out equal areas in equal time intervals. On the other hand, when the Earth is farther away from the Sun (aphelion), it moves slower, covering a smaller area in the same amount of time.
