P sits two seats to the left of R, and Q sits two seats to the right of R. We can represent this information in the diagram below.
We create a new slot for the sixth person. But since U will not sit next to P, S or T, he will have to sit between R and Q. The arrangement will then look as follows:
As we can see from the diagram, the neighbours of P will be T and S.

Seating arrangement problem with a new condition

Given information:
- P, Q, R, S and T sit around a table.
- P sits two seats to the left of R and Q sits two seats to the right of R.Q.

To find:
- If a new person U joins the group such that the initial conditions for the seating arrangement should be observed and also a new condition that U does not sit next to P, S or T be satisfied, then who will be the neighbours of P (one on either side)?

Solution:
- We know that P sits two seats to the left of R and Q sits two seats to the right of R.Q.
- So, the seating arrangement can be represented as follows: R - P - - - - - Q.
- Now, we need to add a new person U such that they do not sit next to P, S or T.
- Let's assume that U sits between R and Q.
- In this case, U can have only two possible positions: U - R - P - - - - - Q - S - T or U - R - P - - - - - Q - T - S.
- In both cases, P has S and T as its neighbours. But this violates the new condition that U should not sit next to P, S or T.
- So, we need to consider another position for U.
- Let's assume that U sits between S and T.
- In this case, U can have only one possible position: R - P - S - U - T - Q.
- Here, P has S and T as its neighbours. Also, the new condition is satisfied as U is not sitting next to P, S or T.
- Therefore, the neighbours of P are S and T.

Answer: Option E (S and T).
