In order to utilize these elements in our body cells, they need to be transported to them. The vital function of the circulatory system is to transport blood to all parts of the body, which is extremely important because it carries nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hormones and blood cells which are required for the nourishment and growth the cells of every organ. It is a closed network consisting of four major components: The heart Blood Blood vessels These four, with the help of certain other organs such as the lungs, are responsible for the circulation of blood in the human body.

The circulatory system is responsible for the transportation of essential substances, such as oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste products, throughout the body. It consists of the heart, blood vessels (arteries, veins, and capillaries), and blood. The Heart

Blood is a connective tissue composed of plasma, red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), and platelets. Its primary function is to transport substances throughout the body.

Functions of the Circulatory System
1. Transport of Oxygen and Nutrients: The circulatory system carries oxygen from the lungs to all cells in the body. It also transports nutrients, such as glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids, to organs and tissues for energy production and maintenance.
2. Removal of Waste Products: The circulatory system collects waste products, such as carbon dioxide and metabolic byproducts, from cells and transports them to organs responsible for elimination, such as the lungs and kidneys.

5. Hormone Transport: Hormones produced by various glands are released into the blood and transported to target organs and tissues, regulating various physiological processes.
6. Maintenance of Fluid Balance: The circulatory system helps maintain the balance of fluids, electrolytes, and pH levels in the body.
