Solution:

Given,
Cost of 5 years lease = Rs. 40,000
Rate of interest = 5%
Annuity factor = 0.230975

Calculation of Annual Depreciation:
Annuity factor is used to write off the cost of an asset over its useful life on the annuity method.

The formula to calculate annual depreciation on annuity method is as follows:
Annual Depreciation = Cost of the Asset x Annuity Factor

Here, the cost of lease is Rs. 40,000 and the annuity factor is 0.230975.

Substituting the values in the formula, we get:

Annual Depreciation = Rs. 40,000 x 0.230975
= Rs. 9,239

Therefore, the amount of annual depreciation will be Rs. 9,239.

Hence, option C is the correct answer.
