Difference between (a) Plant cell and animal cell (b) prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells?
Most Upvoted Answer
Difference between (a) Plant cell and animal cell (b) prokaryotic and ...
PLANT CELL -:
1) Have a cellulose cell wall outside the cell membrane.
2) Have a cell membrane.
3) Have cytoplasm.
4) Have a nucleus.
5) Often have chloroplasts containing chlorophyll.
6) Have prominent one or more vacuoles.
7) Often regular in shape.

ANIMAL CELL -:
1) Have no cell wall.
2) Have no chloroplasts.
3) Have only small vacuoles.
4) Often irregular in shape.
5) Do not contain plastids.
6) Have complex and prominent Golgi apparatus.
7) Cytoplasm fills almost the entire cell.

PROKARYOTIC CELL comprise bacteria and archaea. They typically have a diameter of 0.15 um, and their DNA is not contained within a nucleus. Instead, their DNA is circular and can be found in a region called the nucleoid, which floats in the cytoplasm. Prokaryoter are organisms that consist of a single prokaryotic cell.

EUKARYOTIC CELL are found in plants, animals, fungi and protists. They range from 10-100 um in diameter, and thier DNA is contained within a membrane - bound nucleus. Eukaryotes are organisms containing eukaryotic cells.

Difference between (a) Plant cell and animal cell (b) prokaryotic and ...
Plant cell vs Animal cell:

Plant cells and animal cells are the two main types of eukaryotic cells. While both types of cells share some similarities, they also have several distinct differences.

Cell wall:
Plant cells have a rigid cell wall made up of cellulose, which provides strength and support to the cell. Animal cells do not have a cell wall.

Chloroplasts:
Plant cells contain chloroplasts, which are organelles that carry out photosynthesis. Chloroplasts are not present in animal cells.

Vacuoles:
Plant cells have a large central vacuole that stores water and other materials, while animal cells have multiple small vacuoles.

Shape:
Plant cells are typically rectangular or cube-shaped, while animal cells are more irregular in shape.

Eukaryotic vs Prokaryotic cells:

Eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells are the two main types of cells. They differ in several ways, including their structure, function, and complexity.

Nucleus:
Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus, which contains the cell's genetic material. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus.

Size:
Eukaryotic cells are generally larger than prokaryotic cells.

Organelles:
Eukaryotic cells contain membrane-bound organelles, such as mitochondria, chloroplasts, and the endoplasmic reticulum. Prokaryotic cells do not contain membrane-bound organelles.

Cell division:
Eukaryotic cells divide through mitosis, while prokaryotic cells divide through binary fission.

Examples:
Examples of eukaryotic cells include animal cells and plant cells, while examples of prokaryotic cells include bacteria and archaea.
