According to an old Chinese legend,the empress Si-Ling-Chi was sitting under a mulberry tree and was up with a cup of tea. She was about to take a sip,when she saw a white thread roll structure in the tea,which was the cocoon of the silkmoth. the fibre was made up of a protien. Si ling made a cloth out of the silk fibre,and showed that to king Huang ti. After that,the trend of silk was much in China,and the route taken by the travelers and traders who came along to spread the news about silk is still called the SILK ROUTE.
