According to the Indian Contract Act, a contract is formed when an offer is accepted. In this case, X made an offer to sell his car to Y for Rs. 1,00,000 by sending a letter on 1st January.
Y sent his acceptance by post on 10th January, which is within a reasonable time. However, X received this letter of acceptance only on 15th January, which is after the time limit for acceptance has expired.
