According to the statement (I),

Let present age of Suchitra = X and her son = Y

then,

X = 2 × Y

X/Y = 2/1 .....(a)

It is not sufficient data for further calculation so, we need to consider statement (III).

According to the statement (III),

Four year hence ratio of Suchitra and her son's age

Using equation (a)  Put X = 2Y in above expression we have,

This is Suchitra's son present age so, Suchitra present age is,

So,only statement (I) and (III) is sufficient to solve the problem.

Question: How many students passed in first class?

Statement I: 85% of the students who appeared in examination have passed either in first class or in second class or in pass class.
Statement II: 750 students have passed in second class.
Statement III: The number of students who passed in pass class is 28% of those passed in second class.

Solution:
To answer the question, we need to find the number of students who passed in first class. Let's analyze each statement to see which one is necessary to answer the question.

Statement I: This statement tells us that 85% of the students who appeared in the examination passed in either first class, second class, or pass class. However, it does not give us any specific information about the number of students who passed in first class. Therefore, this statement is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statement II: This statement tells us that 750 students passed in second class. This information is not useful in finding the number of students who passed in first class. Therefore, this statement is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statement III: This statement tells us that the number of students who passed in pass class is 28% of those who passed in second class. Again, this statement does not give us any direct information about the number of students who passed in first class. Therefore, this statement is not sufficient to answer the question.

Conclusion: None of the statements provide us with enough information to determine the number of students who passed in first class. Therefore, the answer is option D, "Question cannot be answered even with information in all three statements."
