Ratio of speeds of two trains = 7:8
Distance covered by second train = 400 km
Time taken by second train = 5 hours
To find:
Speed of first train
Solution:
Let the speeds of first and second trains be 7x and 8x respectively.
We know that distance = speed x time
Distance covered by second train = 8x * 5 = 40x
Given, distance covered by second train = 400 km
40x = 400
x = 10
Therefore, speed of first train = 7x = 7 * 10 = 70 km/h
Answer:
The speed of first train is 70 km/h.
Ratio of speeds of two trains = 7:8
Distance covered by second train = 400 km
Time taken by second train = 5 hours
