Divided Rs. 6000 into two parts so that simple interest on the first ...
Given: Total amount = Rs. 6000, rate of interest for first part = 6%, time for which interest is calculated on the first part = 2 years, rate of interest for the second part = 8%, time for which interest is calculated on the second part = 3 years.

Let the first part be x and the second part be (Rs. 6000 - x).

According to the given conditions,

Simple Interest on the first part = (x * 6 * 2) / 100 = 0.12x

Simple Interest on the second part = [(6000 - x) * 8 * 3] / 100 = 0.24(6000 - x)

As per the question,

0.12x = 0.24(6000 - x)

Solving the above equation, we get:

x = Rs. 4000

Therefore, the first part is Rs. 4000 and the second part is Rs. 2000.

Hence, the correct option is (a) Rs. 4000, Rs. 2000.
