Given below is a frequency distribution with median 46. In this distri...


∴ Median class = 40 – 50
∴ l = 40 , c.f. = 42 + x,  f = 65,  h = 10


∴ x = 34 (∵ Number of students cannot be in fraction) Now Sfi = 29
∴ x + y + 150 = 229 x + y = 229 – 150 = 79 .......... (i)
Putting the value of x in (i), we get 34x + y = 79
⇒ y = 79 – 34 = 45
∴ x = 34, y = 45
