Let, total expenditure = Rs. 100x
According to the question,
⇒ 15x = 21000000
⇒ x = 1400000
∴ Expenditure on transport = Rs. 1400000 × 12.5 = Rs. 17500000 = Rs. 1.75 crores
∴ Expenditure on taxes = Rs. 1400000 × 10 = Rs. 14000000 = Rs 1.4 crores
∴ Required difference = Rs. (1.75 – 1.4) crores = 0.35 crores = 35 lakhs
Hence, the correct option is (C).
