One of the diagonals of a rhombus is 18 cm and the area of the rhombus is 216 cm2. Find the length of the side of the rhombus.

Given
One of the diagonals of a rhombus is 18 cm and the area of the rhombus is 216 cm2.
Using the formula:
Area of rhombus
Now we know that the diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other and are perpendicular to each other.
So, in triangle AOB:
AB2 = AO2 + BO2
⇒ AB2 = 122 + 92
⇒ AB2 = 144 + 81
⇒ AB2 = 225
⇒ AB = 15 cm
∴ Side of the rhombus = 15 cm
Hence, the correct option is (B).
