On August 15, 2021, a 15-year-old young Indian Grandmaster Raunak Sadhwani won the 19th Spilimbergo Open chess tournament in Italy. The 4th-seeded Sadhwani, who hails from Nagpur, remained undefeated in the tournament, with 7 points from 9 rounds, in which claimed 5 wins and 4 draws. In the 9th and final round, Sadhwani and Italian GM Pier Luigi Basso finished level on 7 points, but Sadhwani was declared the winner on the basis of a better tie-break score.
