Anil buys 12 toys and labels each with the same selling price. He sell...
Solution:

Let the labeled price of each toy be x.

Total cost price (CP) = 12x

First sale:

Discount = 20%

Selling price (SP) of each toy = 0.8x

Total SP for 8 toys = 8 × 0.8x = 6.4x

Remaining toys = 12 - 8 = 4

Second sale:

Additional discount = 25%

SP of each toy = 0.75 × 0.8x = 0.6x

Total SP for 4 toys = 4 × 0.6x = 2.4x

Total SP = 6.4x + 2.4x = 8.8x

Given, Total SP = Rs 2112

Therefore, 8.8x = 2112

x = 240

CP of 12 toys = 12x = 12 × 240 = Rs 2880

Profit = 10%

SP = 1.1CP

1.1CP = 2880

CP = 2620

Without any discounts, the selling price of each toy would be x.

Total SP = 12x

CP = 2620, SP = 12x

Profit% = (SP-CP)/CP × 100

10 = (12x-2620)/2620 × 100

120x - 262000 = 26200

120x = 288200

x = 2401.67

Therefore, the percentage of profit without any discounts = (2401.67-240)/240 × 100 = 900.7%

Hence, the correct option is C (50%).
