A train running at the speed of 72 km/hr crosses a pole in 6 seconds....
Given:
Speed of train = 72 km/hr
Time taken to cross a pole = 6 seconds

To find:
Length of the train

Solution:
Let the length of the train be 'L' meters.

We know that
Distance = Speed × Time

When the train crosses a pole, the distance covered is equal to the length of the train.

Therefore, we can write
L = (Speed of train × Time taken to cross the pole)

But the speed of the train is given in km/hr and we need to convert it to meters/second to use it in the above formula.

1 km/hr = 5/18 m/s (Conversion factor)
∴ 72 km/hr = (72 × 5)/18 m/s = 20 m/s

Substituting the values in the formula for length, we get
L = 20 × 6 = 120 meters

Therefore, the length of the train is 120 meters.

Answer: Option A) 120 meters.
