Arithmetic Mean Calculation

Given Information:

  • Weights: 50, 55, 60, 65, 70

  • Number of persons: 15, 20, 25, 30, 10

Step 1: Calculate the product of weights and number of persons

  • 50 * 15 = 750

  • 55 * 20 = 1100

  • 60 * 25 = 1500

  • 65 * 30 = 1950

  • 70 * 10 = 700

Step 2: Find the sum of the products

  • 750 + 1100 + 1500 + 1950 + 700 = 7000

Step 3: Find the sum of the number of persons

  • 15 + 20 + 25 + 30 + 10 = 100

Step 4: Calculate the arithmetic mean

  • Arithmetic mean = Sum of products / Sum of number of persons

  • Arithmetic mean = 7000 / 100

  • Arithmetic mean = 70

Conclusion:

  • The arithmetic mean weight of the given distribution is 70.
