Verified Answer
Directions: Study the following information carefully to answer the q...
Total population of Hubli = 9.4 million
Total population of Mangalore = 9.4 - 3.2 = 6.2 million
Let total male population and total female population in the city Belgaum is 3x and x respectively.
Total female population in Gulbarga = 2.6 million
Total male population in Hubli = 6.7 million
Total female population in Hubli = 9.4 - 6.7 = 2.7 million
Total population of all the five cities together = 6.7 * (100/16.75) = 40 million
Total male population of Gulbarga = 3.8 million
Total population of Gulbarga = 3.8 + 2.6 = 6.4 million
Let total female population of Mangalore = 100y
Total male population of Mangalore = 210% of 100y = 210y
Total population of Mangalore = 100y + 210y = 6.2 million
310y = 6.2
y = 0.02
Total female population of Mangalore = 100y = 2 million
Total male population of Mangalore = 210y = 4.2 million
Total female population of all the five cities together = 14 million
Total male population of all the five cities together = 40 - 14 = 26 million
Total female population of Bangalore = 14 - 8.8 = 5.2 million
Total female population of Belgaum = x = 14 - (5.2 + 2 + 2.7 + 2.6) = 1.5 million
Total male population of Belgaum = 3z = 4.5 million
Total population of Belgaum = 4x = 6 million
Total male population of Bangalore = 26 - (4.2 + 4.5 + 6.7 + 3.8) = 6.8 million
Total population of Bangalore = 6.8 + 5.2 = 12 million
Total male population of all the four remaining cities = 26 - (6.8) = 19.2 million
Total population of all the four remaining cities together = 40 - 12 = 28 million
Required per cent = (19.2/28) * 100 = 68.57%
