⇒ (26)2 – (17 – x)2 = (25)2 – (x)2
⇒ (26)2 – (25)2 = (17 – x)2 – (x)2
⇒ (26 – 25) (26 + 25) = (17 – x + x) (17 – x – x)
⇒ 51 = 17 (17 – 2x)
⇒ 17 – 2x = 3
⇒ 2x = 14 ⇒ x = 7cm.
∴ area = 
= 137 × 12 cm2 = 1644 cm2
