Electric field (E) = V/d
E = 20/0.1 = 200 V/m

Force (F) = eE

F = (1.6 × 10^-19) × 200 = 3.2 × 10^-17 N

3. Calculate the acceleration of the electron
Acceleration (a) = F/m
Where m is the mass of an electron = 9.1 × 10^-31 kg
a = (3.2 × 10^-17) / (9.1 × 10^-31) = 3.52 × 10^13 m/s^2

4. Calculate the time taken by the electron to travel the distance between the plates
Distance (d) = 0.1m
Using the formula: d = 1/2at^2
t = √(2d/a) = √(2 × 0.1 / 3.52 × 10^13) = 1.87 × 10^-7 s

5. Calculate the velocity of the electron
Using the formula: v = at
v = 3.52 × 10^13 × 1.87 × 10^-7 = 2.65 × 10^6 m/s

Therefore, the velocity of the electron when it strikes another plate is 2.65 × 10^6 m/s.
