Total number of balls = 3 × 16 = 48

Number of groups formed = 6

Number of balls in each group = 4

Number of balls in 6 groups = 6 × 4 = 24

Remaining number of balls = 48 - 24 = 24

Let the remaining balls be divided into 2 groups of x balls each.

Total number of balls = Sum of balls in both the groups

24 = x + x

24 = 2x

x = 12

Therefore, the remaining balls can be divided into 2 groups of 12 balls each. Hence, the correct option is (c) 12.
