Verified Answer
Romesh borrowed rs 2000 at 2% per annum and rs 1000 at 5% per annum . ...
We have P= Rs 2000 at t=2% and n= 2
Then the interest = P*T*3
                         =  2000*2*2/100 = 80
Similarly interest on Rs1000 = 1000*5*2/100= 100
He has to pay back =2000 + 1000 + 80 + 100= 3180
ATQ  Cost of watch +2800= 3180
         Cost of watch = 3180 - 2800 = 380
Cost of the watch is Rs 380

Given information:
- Romesh borrowed Rs 2000 at 2% per annum
- Romesh borrowed Rs 1000 at 5% per annum
- Romesh cleared his debt after 2 years by giving Rs 2800 and a watch

To find:
- Cost of the watch

Solution:

Step 1: Calculate the interest for the borrowed amounts:
- Interest for Rs 2000 at 2% per annum for 2 years:
- Interest = (Principal * Rate * Time) / 100
- Interest = (2000 * 2 * 2) / 100
- Interest = 80

- Interest for Rs 1000 at 5% per annum for 2 years:
- Interest = (Principal * Rate * Time) / 100
- Interest = (1000 * 5 * 2) / 100
- Interest = 100

Step 2: Calculate the total amount paid:
- Total amount paid = Borrowed amount + Interest
- Total amount paid = (2000 + 1000) + (80 + 100)
- Total amount paid = 3200

Step 3: Calculate the cost of the watch:
- Cost of the watch = Total amount paid - Rs 2800
- Cost of the watch = 3200 - 2800
