Directions: Read the following information carefully and answer the q...
From Pie chart,
9Y + 15 + 5Z + 20 + 22 = 100
9Y + 5Z = 43
Z = (43 – 9Y)/5
Unit digit of (43 – 9Y) must be either 3 or 8.
If we put Y = 7, (43 – 63) = negative [not possible]
So, put Y = 2, then Z = 5
This is the only possible value.
So, number of students in P = 9 x 2 = 18%
Number of students in R = 5 x 5 = 25%
Now,
(25% - 15%) of total students = 80
So, total number of students in all given colleges together = 80/10 x 100 = 800
For college P,
Total number of students = 18% x 800 = 144
Number of boys = 70
Number of girls = 144 – 70 = 74
Number of boys likes tea = 30
So, number of boys likes coffee = 70 – 30 = 40
Total number of students likes coffee = 75
So, number of girls likes coffee = 75 – 40 = 35
So, number of girls likes tea = 74 – 35 = 39
Similarly, we can find the data for all colleges.
Average number of boyswho likes coffee in colleges Q, R, and S together = (40 + 60 + 50)/3 = 50
Hence, answer is option A
