Initial ratio of their investments = 4 : 5 : 6
Let their initial investments be 4m, 5m and 6m respectively.
Now, ratio of their shares
= 4m x 8 + 3m x 4 : 5m x 12 : 6m x 12
= 44 : 60 : 72
= 11 : 15 : 18
The profit is divided in the ratio of their investments.
Bipasha's annual profit share is Rs. 6,75,000
So, total profit = (44/15) x Rs. 6,75,000 = Rs. 19,80,000

Change in Asha's Capital:
- After 8 months, Asha invested an amount such that her total capital became half of Cheshta's initial capital investment
- Let Asha's initial capital be 4x, Bipasha's initial capital be 5x, and Cheshta's initial capital be 6x
- Asha's new capital = 4x + (8/12)*4x = 4x + 2x = 6x
- Given that Asha's new capital = 0.5 * 6x (Half of Cheshta's initial capital)
- Solving for x, we get x = 2, so Asha's new capital = 6*2 = 12

Profit Sharing:
- Total profit = Annual profit of Bipasha
- Annual profit of Bipasha = 6,75,000

Direction: Read the following passage carefully and answer the question given below it.India embarked on a gradual shift towards capital account convertibility with the launch of the reforms in the early 1990s. Although foreign natural persons except NRIs are prohibited from investing in financial assets, such investments were permitted through Foreign Institutional Investor (FIIs) and Overseas Corporate Bodies (OCBs) with suitable restrictions. Ever since September 14, 1992, when FIIs were first allowed to invest in all the securities traded on the primary and secondary markets, including shares, debentures and warrants issued by companies which were listed or were to be listed on the Stock Exchanges in India and in the schemes floated by domestic mutual funds, the holding of a single FII and of all FIIs, Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and OCBs in any company were subject to the upper limit of 5 per cent and 24 per cent of the company's total issued capital, respectively. Furthermore, funds invested by FIIs had to have at least 50 participants with no one holding more than 5 per cent to ensure a broad base and preventing such investment acting as a camouflage for individual investment in the nature of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and requiring Government approval.Initially the idea of allowing FIIs was that they were broad-based, diversified funds, leaving out individual foreign investors and foreign companies. The only exceptions were the NRI and OCB portfolio investments through the secondary market, which were subject to individual ceilings of 5 per cent to prevent a possible "take over."
