    Given d = 250 mm or r = 125 mm; 2θ = 90° = π/2 rad, P = 700 N, μ = 0.35
    Since the angle of contact is greater than 60°, therefore equivalent coefficient of friction,
    Let RN = Normal force pressing the block to the brake drum, and
    Ft = Tangential braking force = μ'.RN
    Taking moments above the fulcrum O, we have
    = 520 Ft
    or 520 Ft - 50 Ft = 700 x 450
    or Ft = 700 x 450/470 = 670 N
    We know that torque transmitted by the block brake
    TB = Ft x r = 670 x 125 = 83750 N-mm
    = 83.75 N-m
