Since ∂v/∂x = px2 + y2 + 2xy & ∂v/∂x = x2 + qy2 + 2xy.
Le M = Px2 + y2 + 2xy & N = x2 + qy2 + 2xy
⇒ ∂M/∂y = 2y + 2x; ⇒ ∂N/∂x = 2x + 2y
∴ ∂M/∂y = ∂N/∂x
∴ Eq(1) is exact.
∴ The solution of eq(1)
