According to the question,
Let number of students in section A of college R = students in section B of college R = a
Let number of students in section A of college S = students in section B of college S = b
Now,
(40 – 20) % x a = 45% x b
So, a/b = 9/4 (9k, 4k)
Ratio of boys in section A of college R to that of boys in section B of college S = (80% x 9k): (65% x 4k) = 36 : 13
So, (Z + 4) = 36
Value of Z = 32
Also, (Y – 7) = 13
Value of Y = 20
Required % change = (32 – 20)/32 x 100 = 37.5%
Hence answer is option B
