Directions:This problem contains a question followed by two statements...
Question:

Around a circular table, six persons A, B, C, D, E and F are sitting. Who is to the immediate left of A?

Statements:

I. B is sitting opposite to C, and D is sitting opposite to E.

II. F is sitting to the immediate left of B, and B is sitting to the immediate left of E.

Answer:

The question is asking about the person who is sitting to the immediate left of A. In order to answer this, we need to know the relative positions of A and the other people at the table.

Statement I tells us that B is sitting opposite to C, and D is sitting opposite to E. However, this statement does not provide any information about the position of A, so it is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statement II tells us that F is sitting to the immediate left of B, and B is sitting to the immediate left of E. This means that A is either sitting to the immediate left of F or two seats away from F. Therefore, we still do not have a definite answer to the question.

However, if we combine both statements, we can determine the position of A. Since B is sitting opposite to C, and D is sitting opposite to E, we can draw the following diagram:

C B A E D F

From Statement II, we know that F is sitting to the immediate left of B, and B is sitting to the immediate left of E. Therefore, we can fill in the diagram as follows:

C B A E D F

We now know that A is sitting to the immediate left of F, so the answer to the question is F.

Therefore, both statements together are sufficient to answer the question, but neither statement alone is sufficient. The correct answer is option C.
