In a noiseless transformer, an alternating current of 2 ampere is flow...
Given:
Current in primary coil (I1) = 2 A
No. of turns in primary coil (N1) = 100
No. of turns in secondary coil (N2) = 20

To find:
Current in secondary coil (I2) = ?

Formula:
According to the law of conservation of energy, the power in the primary coil is equal to the power in the secondary coil.

Power in primary coil = Power in secondary coil

P1 = P2

P = VI (where P is power, V is voltage and I is current)

V1I1 = V2I2

Since it is a noiseless transformer, the voltage is constant. Therefore,

I1/N1 = I2/N2

Calculation:
I1/N1 = I2/N2

2/100 = I2/20

I2 = 2/100 x 20

I2 = 0.4 A

Therefore, the current in the secondary coil is 0.4 A.

Option (b) is the correct answer.
