A car moving with a speed of 40 km/h can be stopped by applying brakes...
Given, initial speed of the car, v1 = 40 km/h
Stopping distance at this speed, d1 = 2m

To find, minimum stopping distance when the speed of the car is doubled, v2 = 80 km/h

We know that the stopping distance of a car is directly proportional to the square of its initial speed. That is,
d2/d1 = (v2/v1)^2

Substituting the given values, we get
d2/2 = (80/40)^2
d2/2 = 4
d2 = 8m

Therefore, the minimum stopping distance when the speed of the car is doubled is 8m. The correct option is A.
