Sentences are a group of words used to express a complete thought. There are four main types of sentences which are as follows:

1. Declarative Sentence
A declarative sentence is a sentence that makes a statement or declaration. It ends with a period. For example, "I am going to the store."

2. Interrogative Sentence
An interrogative sentence is a sentence that asks a question. It ends with a question mark. For example, "What time is it?"

3. Exclamatory Sentence
An exclamatory sentence is a sentence that expresses strong emotion or excitement. It ends with an exclamation mark. For example, "I won the lottery!"

4. Imperative Sentence
An imperative sentence is a sentence that gives a command or makes a request. It can end with a period or an exclamation mark depending on the tone. For example, "Please pass the salt."

Not a Type of Sentence

Commutative is not a type of sentence. Commutative is a mathematical term that refers to the order in which numbers are added or multiplied.
