- The National Geographic Society and DHM have signed a memorandum of understanding to operate all 5 automatic weather stations installed by Nat Geo to provide near real-time information regarding mountain conditions.
- Under the MoU, the National Geographic team will fully operate the stations till 2025 before transferring the technology to the Nepal government in 2026.

- Chinese expedition has installed eight stations set up from 5,200 meters to 8,800 meters on Mount Everest, with four stations exceeding 7,000 meters at 7,028 meters, 7,790 meters, 8,300 meters, and 8,800 meters.
