Illustrative Project File for IPL 2023
In this project file, we will collect information about the bidding value of all 11 players of any 3 teams of IPL 2018, find the mean and modal bidding value for each team, find the median for the bidding values of each team, draw a pie chart to represent the number of players from different countries in these 3 IPL franchises, and draw a histogram and frequency polygon to analyze the data.
Collecting Information
To collect information about the bidding value of all 11 players of any 3 teams of IPL 2018, we can use the official IPL website or any reliable sports website. We will select three teams and gather the data for all their players' bidding values.
Mean and Modal Bidding Value
To find the mean and modal bidding value for each team, we will add up all the players' bidding values and divide them by 11 to get the mean. The modal bidding value is the value that appears most frequently in the data. We will count the number of times each value appears and select the value with the highest frequency.
Median Bidding Value
To find the median for the bidding values of each team, we will arrange the data in ascending order and select the middle value. If there are two middle values, we will calculate their mean.
Pie Chart
To draw a pie chart to represent the number of players from different countries in these 3 IPL franchises, we will count the number of players from each country and represent it as a percentage of the total number of players. We will then use these percentages to draw a pie chart.
Histogram and Frequency Polygon
To draw a histogram and frequency polygon to analyze the data, we will first group the data into intervals and count the number of observations in each interval. We will then represent this data using a histogram, which is a bar graph where the height of each bar represents the frequency of observations in that interval. We will also draw a frequency polygon, which is a line graph that connects the midpoints of each interval and shows the frequency distribution of the data.
In conclusion, this project file will help us analyze the bidding value of IPL players, their country of origin, and their frequency distribution through various graphical representations.
