Solution:
Given, 40 GMs are inserted between 2 and 40.
Let the first GM be a and the common difference be d.
Then, the 40th GM is given by a+39d = 40
Also, the sum of the terms is given by [n/2] [2a + (n-1)d] = 38
Solving the above two equations, we get a = 3/2 and d = 1/2
Therefore, the 10th GM from the beginning is given by a+9d = 8 and the 10th GM from the end is given by a+31d = 18
Hence, the product of the 10th GM from beginning and that of from end is 8×18 = 144.
Therefore, the correct option is (d) None.
