Difference in Syllabus for Different Papers of JEE Main Exam


The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a highly competitive national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India. It is divided into two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. While Paper 1 is for admission to undergraduate engineering programs, Paper 2 is for admission to undergraduate architecture and planning courses. Both papers have slight differences in their syllabus.


Physics:
- Physics syllabus for Paper 1 includes topics like Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electromagnetism, and Modern Physics.
- Key topics include laws of motion, gravitation, thermodynamics, electromagnetic waves, and semiconductor devices.

Chemistry:
- Chemistry syllabus for Paper 1 covers topics like Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.
- Key topics include atomic structure, chemical bonding, equilibrium, coordination compounds, organic compounds, and biomolecules.

Mathematics:
- Mathematics syllabus for Paper 1 consists of topics like Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Co-ordinate Geometry, and Mathematical Reasoning.
- Key topics include quadratic equations, matrices and determinants, sequences and series, limits and derivatives, and probability.


Mathematics:
- Mathematics syllabus for Paper 2 is similar to that of Paper 1, including topics like Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Co-ordinate Geometry, and Mathematical Reasoning.

Aptitude Test:
- This section focuses on assessing the candidate's aesthetic sensitivity, architectural awareness, and observation skills.
- Topics include visualizing three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings, mental ability, architectural awareness, and analytical reasoning.

Drawing Test:
- This section evaluates the candidate's drawing and sketching abilities.
- Topics include understanding scale and proportion, perspective drawing, sketching of urban scenes, and creativity.


While the syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the JEE Main exam has some overlap in the mathematics section, the major differences lie in the Physics, Chemistry, and additional sections of Paper 2. It is important for candidates to be well-versed with the specific syllabus of the paper they are appearing for, in order to prepare effectively and maximize their chances of success.
