- The river enters into plains of Assam near Mathanguri and flows through the Manas reserve forest.
- At Mathanguri, this river bifurcates into two branches, the eastern branch is known as Beki, and the western branch is known as Manas.
- The river Manas meets the river Brahmaputra near Jogighopa.
- It is a north bank tributary of the river Brahmaputra.
The Krishna:
- It is the second-largest east-flowing peninsular river that rises near Mahabaleshwar in Sahyadri.
- Its total length is 1,401 km.
- The Koyna, the Tungabhadra, and the Bhima are its major tributaries.
