Age Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen in RBI Assistant Exam

Ex-servicemen, including commissioned officers, as well as ECOs/SSCOs, are eligible for certain age relaxations in the RBI Assistant Exam. The age relaxations provided are as follows:

1. Upper Age Relaxation:
Ex-servicemen who have rendered at least five years of military service and have been released on completion of the assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) are eligible for an upper age relaxation of the following years:
- General Category: Up to 3 years
- OBC Category: Up to 6 years
- SC/ST Category: Up to 8 years

2. Maximum Age Limit:
The maximum age limit for ex-servicemen applying for the RBI Assistant Exam is as follows:
- General Category: 30 years
- OBC Category: 33 years
- SC/ST Category: 35 years

3. Cumulative Age Relaxation:
Candidates who have availed age relaxation under any category, including ex-servicemen, will be eligible for cumulative age relaxation. This means that the maximum age limit will be calculated by adding the age relaxation availed under various categories.

4. Definition of Ex-Servicemen:
For the purpose of age relaxation in the RBI Assistant Exam, the term "ex-servicemen" refers to a person who has served in any rank (whether as a combatant or non-combatant) in the regular Army, Navy, or Air Force of the Indian Union but has retired from such service after earning his/her pension. This also includes personnel of the Territorial Army who have completed their period of military service.

5. Documents Required:
Candidates claiming age relaxation under the ex-servicemen category are required to produce the necessary documents such as discharge certificate, pension payment order, and other relevant documents during the document verification process.
