- The total marks for the IIT JAM Mathematics paper is 100.
- The sum of the maximum marks assigned to each section is 60.
- The remaining 40 marks are assigned to General Aptitude (GA) questions, which are common for all subjects in the JAM examination.
- The GA section consists of 10 questions, out of which 5 questions carry 1 mark each, and the remaining 5 questions carry 2 marks each.
- The marking scheme for the GA section is the same as that of Section A.
