  • On 8 August 1942, the meeting of the All India Congress Committee was held at Gwalia Tank, Mumbai.
  • In this meeting, the British Quit India resolution was passed, at this time Gandhiji gave his famous slogan "Do or Die". He said that we will liberate India or give our lives in this effort, to see the permanence of our slavery. For we will not be alive.
  • Big leaders including Gandhi were arrested and imprisoned and some leaders went underground and gave direction to the movement.
