  • This treaty was signed by Metcalf and Ranjit Singh, the main conditions of this treaty were as follows ----
  • 1- Sutlej river was accepted as the boundary of both the states.
  • 2- A British army was kept in Ludhiana, so that Ranjit Singh could not attack on this side.
  • 3- The states east of the Sutlej river now went to the British.

  • Lord Minton feared his invasion of India due to a treaty between France and Russia.
